XtraFinder and El Capitan

One of my favorite add-ons to the MacOS is XTrafinder. I have talked about it before, but seriously if you don’t have it, you are missing out.

Annoyingly enough, due to the new OS protection in El Capitan, Xtrafinder quit working. Here is how to fix it -

  1. Reboot your OS, and press CMD_R while you do so to reboot in recovery mode
  2. Start terminal when rebooted in recovery mode, and run terminal. Type “csrutil disable”
  3. Reboot normally
  4. Reinstall Xtrafinder
  5. Enjoy (and share this with anyone who might find it useful!)

Sound off but keep it civil:
