I’m thrilled to see my Claims based article online. I wrote this about 4 months ago, and this is the ground setting for a couple of really exciting articles and content in the next few months.

I intend to take things much much further and set the ground for what I am convinced the future will make us do! That is, work more and more in the cloud, and integrate Azure, Office 365, and SharePoint. I just don’t see it any other way – all the tea leaves are reading in that direction. Think about it, you have an in-house SharePoint site! And exposing it on the extranet, has always been a hassle! Yes, in spite of the advancements in SharePoint 2010, it is still a hassle mostly due to internal or inter-organization hassles, NOT due to technology issues! I find it shocking that all the pieces of the puzzle are right in front of us, and how few organizations haven’t put them together, and I fully expect Microsoft to put these together in the coming years for us. Putting these in front of you are like giving you superman like powers!

In my subsequent articles, I will be sharing what you can use today, with the technologies available today (stuff that is RTM as of today)! But, for now, here is a simple article on the very basics of Claims Based Authentication, which is one of the fundamental blocks of what all of us need to know about the future.
