Sometimes your project doesn't directly produce an assembly, but depends upon it. How can you package such an assembly in your VS2010 based SP2010 project?

Okay it’s really quite simple! Here are the steps

  1. Right click on the package node, and choose “View Designer”
  2. Then at the bottom where you see “Design”, “Advanced”, and “Manifest” .. click on Advanced.
  3. Great, now click on the “Add” button to add the assembly. A dialogbox will pop open that will allow you to add the assembly and/or create it’s safe control entries.

Easy!
